Samuel Chiang
Executive Director
Samuel was born in Taiwan, grew up and worked in Canada (Ernst & Young), and graduated from Dallas Seminary where he also served on staff. He served with the church in China and has written extensively on China. He has also authored book chapters in diverse genres including innovation, orality, and persecution. Formerly the Chief Operating Officer of TWR, currently he is the Senior Associate- Orality for Lausanne, where he also serves on the Strategy Working Group. He and his wife, Robbi, live in Hong Kong.
Rick Brekelbaum
US Coordinator
After 32 years with Exxon in their international financial arena, Rick has been active in missions, serving on the board of directors for two ministries and providing leadership and support with Campus Crusade for Christ. Currently Rick serves as US Coordinator for ION, is on the Board for the local affiliate of National Christian Foundation, and Treasurer for Pure Charity. Rick and his wife, Jayne are certified life coaches and have ministered in various countries, particularly Latin America. Rick is fluent in Spanish and has traveled to 54 countries.
Linda Bemis
Facilitator -- Prayer Task Force
Linda passionately seeks to encourage others to not only put prayer first, but to model the priority of prayer as a foundational aspect of ministry. She is an experienced trainer and facilitator in prayer as well as prayer mobilization. Leading out with a passion for prayer and a strong love for evangelism. Challenging those in ministry to fully engage and utilize the untapped "resource of prayer and intercessors" in their organizations, agencies and churches. Sharing with others that participation in prayer requires us to acknowledge that there are things 'that only God can do through the ministry of prayer.' Praise be to God!
Susie Brown
Facilitator -- Women's Task Force
Susie has a deep love to connect with women in orality organizations, where she leads the International Orality Network's Women's Task Force. Women make up the largest percentage of the 2.5 billion people in the world that cannot read or write. Working on staff with T4 Global as the Director of Women's Programs means that she can reach these women and make a difference. As a soloist, musician, and songwriter Susie brings an added depth and dimension to the work and ministry that she does.
Tim Brown
Facilitator -- Field Training Task Force
Tim's heart was captured by Orality in 1999 when he traveled to Ghana and visited several Oral Bible Churches. His vision for communicating the Gospel through oral communication strategies grew as he became more involved with orality-based church planting movements in Ghana and northern India while serving as Mission Pastor for Pantano Christian Church, Tucson, AZ. Tim currently works with T4 Global as the Country Director for India. His background includes photojournalism, corporate communications and marketing and he has a BA in Religious Studies and an MBA. Tim and his wife, Susie live in Tucson.
Jaime Chambers
ION Assistant
Jaime's passion is to connect people and ministries with like purposes so that they can become more effective. She believes that everyone should have the opportunity to engage with the Word of God in the way they best understand. Jaime has traveled the world with Awana International teaching, training and encouraging and is now involved in helping Awana reach out with more oral methodologies. She finds that ION is a phenomenal way to pinpoint best practices and new strategies that will multiply the Kingdom!
Paul Konstanski
Facilitator -- Secondary Orality Task Force
Paul's work as a Project Specialist with Campus Crusade for Christ has given him a wide-spread exposure to a variety of approaches in ministry in many different settings. These experiences, combined with his unique blend of administrative skills and creativity have often helped him lead people to think "outside the box" yet in a way that is tied to practical application and getting things done.
Dr. Charles Madinger
Facilitator -- Research Task Force
Chuck invested more than 30 years in discipleship and global evangelism. Following his leadership as a missions pastor, he helped launch Voice for Humanity and T4 Global with programs in 15 countries, and then founded Global Impact Missions to help others build organizational capacity for orality-framed strategies. His contributions to the field of orality can be seen in his latest work, "Coming to Terms with Orality: A Holistic Model." His research continues at the University of Kentucky where he is currently working on a Ph.D. in communication.
Dr. Mark Overstreet
Facilitator -- Theological Education Task Force
Mark preaches, teaches and writes with a passion for God's glory in missions, ministry, and leadership. From the seminary classroom to mud huts in tribal Africa, he serves the Lord wherever He calls. He currently serves as Vice President at T4 Global, an organization that specializes in communication with oral cultures. In this role, he teaches pastors around the world in leadership development, church planting, discipleship, and evangelism. Mark and his wife, Tiffanie live in Rockwell, TX.
Jim Rosene
Facilitator -- Children's Task Force
Jim has been the President of Kids Around the World, a faith-based, non-profit mission organization since it was founded in 1994 with the commitment to reach children worldwide for Jesus. His passion is to reach children who live where hope is hard to find. Jim, through Kids Around the World is committed to meet the physical needs of children by providing nutritious food, their emotional needs by building playgrounds, and their spiritual needs by providing and training Sunday School teachers in the use of flannelgraph and story materials.
Stephen Stringer
Facilitator -- Best Practices Task Force
Stephen has been teaching people to share their faith, disciple others, and plant churches using Bible storying for the past 12 years. He and his family have lived and ministered in France, Benin, and India. He currently lives in Bangalore, India and travels around the world training, consulting, and coaching for reproducing church planting strategies using Bible storying. Stephen is the developer of the church planting strategy, Storying Training for Trainers (S-T4T). Stephen's passion is for all believers to have access to the Word of God and for all believers to be equipped to effectively share their faith and disciple others using God's Word. He believes that Bible storying is the key to seeing this happen among the majority of the world who choose to learn through oral means.
Bill Sunderland
Facilitator -- Task Force Functions
Bill has a diverse background including industrial sales, sales management, the development of sports ministry partnerships in the US and Asia, and sales consulting. He and his wife lived in Korea for three years and coordinated the evangelistic outreach surrounding the 1988 Olympics. This experience led to his involvement in developing joint ventures and strategic alliances in China, Taiwan, and Papua New Guinea. He is now part of the VisionSynergy team- a ministry which seeks to accelerate world evangelization among the neediest and most unreached by empowering the global church's commitment to kingdom collaboration. The small team of associates at VisionSynergy assists in the development of collaborative, working networks within the global church.
David Swarr
Facilitator -- Audio Scripture Engagement Initiative
David serves as President and CEO of Davar Partners International, a Scripture engagement organization. David is passionate about the role of audio scriptures in transforming communities and believes that everyone should have the opportunity to personally engage with the Word of God in their own language. David grew up in the Middle East and has lived and served on five continents. He has a rich background in cross cultural leadership including senior positions in multinational companies, NGO’s, and a university.
Erica Logan
Facilitator -- Music and the Arts Task Force
Erica has a heart for collaboration and a desire to serve ministries by exploring how music and the arts can fuel and enhance their goals. Her journey with orality began while researching the local arts of Mongolia's nomads. With little interest in the written Word and no regular pastoral care, she sought to find tangible ways of infusing scripture into their daily lives through easily remembered forms like music. Erica has since resided in Southeast Asia as an arts consultant to area missionaries and a workshop facilitator for contextualizing the Gospel through indigenous art. She currently serves as Managing Director of Heart Sounds International focusing on igniting culturally relevant and biblically appropriate worship among the nations. Erica and her husband, Geoff live in Tulsa, OK.
Roland Moody
Formerly served as a Divisional Vice President of Macy’s in Atlanta, GA. He also worked as Vice President Communications for The Haggai Institute. Roland has traveled the world to various countries in Europe and Asia developing products and working directly with manufacturers, distributors and also marketing products.
